Therapy for Migraine Patients

Migraine is more than a headache. Chronic and vestibular migraine can disrupt work, relationships and plans, and the fear of the next attack can be exhausting on its own.

Supporting you alongside medical care

Therapy doesn't replace your neurologist or headache specialist. It works alongside medical treatment to help you cope with what migraine brings: pain, uncertainty, cancelled plans, and the guilt or frustration that can follow.

Psychologists in the collective validate the reality of your physical symptoms while helping you work through grief, navigate uncertainty, and reconnect with valued activities and relationships.

What we work on

  • Coping with pain and attack-related anxiety
  • Pacing, boundaries and communicating needs at work, school and home
  • Noticing the stress-symptom cycle and calming the stress response
  • Softening self-criticism and rebuilding confidence
  • Self-advocacy in medical appointments

Approaches

CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness and self-compassion, tailored to each person. Dr. Kassouf has particular expertise with migraine, including vestibular migraine, and trains other clinicians in this work.
