Feeling "less than" or "not good enough," losing interest in things you used to enjoy, or simply feeling stuck. Therapy for depression can help you quiet the self-critic and rebuild momentum.
How we approach depression
Depression can make even small tasks feel heavy, and it often comes with harsh self-talk. Psychologists in the collective bring warmth and practical structure: understanding the patterns that keep you stuck, reconnecting with values, and taking small, doable steps.
We often draw on CBT to shift unhelpful thinking, ACT to reconnect with what matters, self-compassion practices to soften self-criticism, and behavioral activation to rebuild energy. Dr. Henry also works from a psychodynamic-relational approach, exploring how past experiences shape how you relate to yourself and others today.
Coping tools you can use between sessions
One tool we teach is the Levels of Self Care, an optional way to organize coping skills by how distressed you feel, from simple distraction to reaching out for support. You don't have to go in order: you can reach out for professional support at any time, and safety concerns always come first.
When to get help right away
If you are thinking about harming yourself or feel unsafe, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. Therapy is not a crisis service.
